Over 50 Years of our family giving you more of what you go to sailing school for!SM

See video clips from actual trips.

MOST RECENT TRIP: Virgin Islands (BVI), February 29-March 7.  See plenty of pics and some prose in our Blog Rant about it!  Want clips?  See our Instagram.

NEXT TRIP:  Italy! Bay of Naples, Pontines, Amalfi Coast. This trip is on hold due to COVID-19 concerns.  Hit us up to keep in the loop on whether it will happen, and/or when the next Med trip will be.

Earn ASA Cruising or Coastal Nav Certification (103, 104 or 105), AND get a great sailing vacation as well!

In Croatia, for example, we sailed THIS

Jeanneau 47, with 4 cabins: excellent sailing traits and spacious accommodations. We had a brand new one on our trip out of Dubrovnik, Croatia. We charter new boats and pay a premium for them, so they’re not beat up and don’t break down during your vacation & course…. just another way we give you more.

Want to sail in the Virgin Islands (BVI) or Italy with us in 2020?  Read on, or contact us!

Join us in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean for an exotic sailing vacation! Learn how to sail a charter yacht and also have plenty of time to play, explore, or just relax.  Next time you’ll be ready to bareboat your own cruise.

You’ll be aboard a large, late model cruising auxiliary – typically 43-47 feet – with spacious private cabins, and fully appointed for a surprisingly comfortable week aboard.  Don’t worry – we go ashore whenever we want with our stable, inflatable dinghy with a rigid floor that’s almost more fun to drive than the sailboat!

Where we went LAST & where we’re going NEXT!..

BVI, February 29 – March 7

Great time of the year to balance crowds with weather, and the weather was spectacular: consistent breezes in the mid to upper teens almost, very little rain (there are always a few showers), and room to roam while meeting other cruisers.  Want some pics and prose?  See our Blog Rant about that trip!

Italy, September 26 – October 3

This will be our third trip in Italy, and our second to the Campagna region!  Great flexibility in itineraries, here, and impossible to go “wrong.”  Fall is a great time to go – still summery, with perfectly swimmable water, and it’s less crowded.  But it’s still open!  Wine and dine ashore; explore unspoiled and historic, even ancient areas.  Stunning vistas with tall, majestic cliffs overlooking the water and sea-side villages.  See why this region is one of the most visited in Europe – and miss most of the visitors with our perfect timing!  This trip was booked by a client who did BVI and Italy with us before; remaining berths/cabins will be offered starting February 23, so if interested, contact us to get on our waitlist!

We might run another trip either the week before or the week after, again for a client and her friends.  And, again, in case there’s room, you should hit us up!

…and, THIS…

Another great capture in Croatia by Arieh Hammer.

Trip prices average out to be around $1750 per person, usually double occupancy.  That includes everything except flights, transfers, and some dinners ashore in the Virgin Islands.  (In Europe, we almost always dine ashore.)  There’s plenty to do besides the big-boat skills from the cruising courses.  Non-sailor friends and spouses enjoy these trips immensely.  Here are some ways you can play:

  • swimming and snorkeling
  • surfing and SUP
  • windsurfing and kite boarding
  • fishing
  • beachcombing
  • light hiking
  • bike and moped rentals
  • exploring small towns and villages
  • local festivals
  • fun dining and imbibing spots

and, stayed HERE…

See all the boats lined up? When we arrived, there were only a few. Our trips are timed for peak conditions, but off-peak crowds. Best of both worlds. This was our final stop on our Croatia trip from 2017. Mljet, not far from Dubrovnik, Croatia.

When you’re not playing or chillaxin, you can be earning ASA 103, 104 or 105 certification (Basic Cruising,  Bareboat, or Coastal Navigation, respectively).  Certification is included in the trip price.

We were on the cover – and in the pages – of ASA’s American Sailing Magazine, featuring one of our sailing vacation/course trips…

am sail greece shotThe couple shown working out something on the chart were pursuing their Bareboat 104 certification.  They had started with learn-to-sail/101 locally at our City Island base, and worked their way up to this trip.  The day after it ended, they switched to another yacht – which they’d chartered in advance – and set off on their own 1-week bareboat cruise in Greece’s famous Cyclades Islands!
