Over 50 Years of our family giving you more of what you go to sailing school for!SM
New Weekday Schedule: August 26, 28 & September 2. Dates are tentative; course will be held over those two weeks. Two spots left. Want in, or more info? Contact us!
New Weekend Schedule: August 30 & 31 (102), OR: August 30, 31 & September 14 (101/102). Which one we’ll do depends on the experience of those available. The 3-day 101/102 is for beginners who need the full course. The 2-day 102 is for those with significant prior experience and/or 101 training. Questions? Ready to sign up for one of the choices? Contact us!
Weekends are booked now, but we’re hoping to add an additional schedule or two. Want Weekdays? ASK! Weekday schedules usually don’t even show on the drop down list, as we group people together to form schedules. We’re booked solid until the last week of August (see above). If you want to discuss a custom weekend schedule, or want weekdays/evenings in September, contact us!
Ready to learn how to sail, cruise or navigate? On-water sailing schedules for ASA 101 and 102 are shown below. 103 & 104 are announced as they’re set. ASA 105 Coastal Navigation is offered fall through spring. See a list of courses with links here, or contact us with questions.
Here you can see our 2025 WEEKEND schedules and also sign up. Want WEEKDAYS? We schedule those based on demand, and they rarely get posted here, so CONTACT US to schedule weekdays. (We set weekend schedules far in advance; you schedule weekdays with us based on your availability and we group you with others.)
Use the drop-downs to view schedules. To sign up, scroll down to the purchase links and check out to pay with credit/debit card or PayPal (your choice). If you prefer an email invoice you can pay with plastic, or prefer to use Venmo or Zelle, hit us up. No hidden fees here! Many schools use Fare Harbor or other services that tack on a substantial extra fee at the last minute. Our site has SSL, and credit/debit cards are process on ultra-secure PayPal. (You can use a PayPal account if you have one and prefer.) Type or paste your schedule choice in the field that asks for it, add to cart, and we’ll see you on the water (after confirming and sending you your textbook, a list of what to bring/wear, etc)!
2025 sailing course schedule is up! Plan your learn to sail or refresher now. As usual, we’ve posted an “early-bird” schedule for ASA 101/102 for the upcoming season. We add more based on demand (especially for mid week courses); we delete or modify to accommodate you as well. So, the schedule is flexible until it isn’t- when it has enrollment. Nb: demand starts way before sailing does (thinkearly winter of ‘24/25) and spring/early summer schedules fill up quickly. But: unlike the rest of the region, mid-summer is excellent where we are. Reliable, strong sea breezes, cooler temps, and far less risk of thunderstorms make it fun and efficient, with plenty of time to keep sailing before the season slows down (it never ends!).
Want weekdays? Those aren’t posted in advance. We schedule them on demand with people who have weekday availability. That can be done now for 2025 so you know, or closer to go-time based on what you have going on. To schedule or simply discuss how weekdays work, contact us.
Nb: early-season schedules fill up way in advance (think this fall and early winter). Peeps love the pre-plan. Just sayin…
Local courses for 103 and 104 (Basic Coastal and Bareboat Cruising) will be announced during the season as they’re scheduled. We often use private boats for these courses. If you have your own and prefer to learn on it, that could wind up being a scheduled course – and the course might come to you! Contact us to discuss your goals, your boat, and whether there’s a fit.
READY TO BOOK? Scroll down to the payment links and choose your course. Add your choice/s to cart, and type or paste in your schedule in the editable field. Be sure to read the terms and conditions at the bottom of the page before signing up! If you’re getting a gift, no need to schedule in advance. If you want to book a 2025 schedule for yourself, check dates to make sure we’ve posted the new schedules. If you need to purchase before a deadline to take advantage of a matching contribution or reimbursement from work, just go for it and we’ll sort the scheduling later.

All transactions are on PayPal’s platform – ultra secure! (No need to have a PayPal account.) Easy from any device; super mobile-friendly. In some cases, you can even use a bank account. You’ll get instant confirmation both on-screen and by email. Want an invoice first? Let us know, and we’ll email one you can click and pay from and save for your records.

Any which way you pay to play, please read the terms and conditions at the bottom of the page before enrolling. There, you’ll also find a list of Courses, prices & discounts, with links back to their pages, in case you need to check anything before choosing.)
You’ll get instant on-screen and email confirmation, and we’ll follow up with a second and confirm your schedule if you chose one. Or, shoot us a message or reply to our confirmation to set your schedule. You can also call us at 917-331-8558 if you have questions or anything to add. Welcome aboard!
Ready to do this? Here we go…
Here’s more about our discount & Price Matching, followed by a list of courses/prices with links to their pages, and Terms and Conditions of enrollment.
Graduates of any of our certification courses enjoy a 10% discount on all future courses & clinics (not extended to our sailing vacation courses abroad).
nb: Discounts can’t be combined. The best available single discount will always apply, whether it’s a volume discount, sale price, or price matching. Any discount requires at least 3 students in a schedule for nav and cruising courses, but only 2 for learn-to-sail/101. We will still run scheduled courses that are not full, but discounts will not apply, even if a student must make up the difference in pricing. No refund will be given in the event that a discount must be forfeited due to not having the minimum applicable enrollment. Re-scheduling will not be allowed either unless, at the Sailing Center’s sole discretion, it does not create a logistical problem for the Sailing Center or other student/s involved. (Many other schools simply cancel schedules that aren’t full, and leave students without plans at the last minute. Again, we’ll run a schedule that doesn’t have full enrollment, but unless the boat or classroom is more than half full, we can’t give discounts when we do that for you.)
BEWARE of misleading descriptions of how long a course is. Schools do it; daily deal sites do it. Be sure you’re clear about the following when comparing programs:
- how many hours are considered a ‘day’
- whether those hours are sailing or in a classroom
- whether sailing hours are with an instructor or practicing without one
What do we give you?
- 3 full days with an instructor, mostly on-water (approx 5 hours classroom and 18 sailing)
- 3 students maximum per boat (almost all other schools do 4 per boat)
- 2 or 3 half day practice sessions, supervised by an instructor, but you sail without one
So, you see, we are a better value BEFORE price matching. Having said that, here are the terms for this policy…
- School must be an ASA or US Sailing Certification facility.
- A yacht club is defined as a private, non-profit membership club.
- Each ‘day’ must be mostly sailing time with an instructor. A ‘3-day’ course that only gives you two days with an instructor on board is a 2-day course. For two-day courses, if part of that time is practice sailing without an instructor, or taking and exam, etc, we will give you 25% of the price difference instead of 50%. (Remember, we include two half-day practice sessions after our entire 3-day course, and don’t use course time to administer tests.)
- Their price must be all-inclusive, or we’ll add on the extras – course materials, text book/practice problems, plotting tools, certification, etc – before matching the price or splitting the difference.
- Price matching applies regardless of whether either course is on sale.
- If their course is offered through a ‘daily deal’ site such as Groupon, Living Social, etc, we will still do price matching unless there are extra restrictions imposed on the purchaser through the offer as compared to that school’s posted terms & conditions. In that case, we’ll split the difference for 3-day courses and offer 25% of the difference for 2-day courses
- For Coastal Navigation: their course must have at least two sessions, each on a different date, and total at least 12 hours in instructional length. Any time allotted for the certification exam doesn’t count.
